Even before the first use: Former Graz99ers keeper leaves the KHL!

We recently reported on the change of 25-year-old goalkeeper Olivier Rodrigue to the continental hockey League (KHL) to Barys Astana. Now the Canadian leaves the club again before the first assignment.

Due to an injury that occurred during the training, Rodrigue underwent a detailed medical examination, which revealed a problem that further treatment required. After intensive discussions between the player and the association, mutually decided to end the contract.

Rodrigue, a 2nd round pick of the Edmonton Oilers in NHL Entry Draft 2018, has already gained experience in North America and Europe. Among other things, he played some games for the Moser Medical Graz99ers in 2020/21 and celebrated ten wins there before going back to North America. In recent years, the left -wing catcher has mainly stood on the ice in the Ahl, but in the past season there were two missions for the Edmonton Oilers.
