The Graz99ers are currently struggling with massive problems in exploiting opportunities. In the last four games, the Styrians fired 197 shots – and only scored ten times. Despite the clear superiority in the statistics, they only managed four points. The opponents presented themselves more efficiently: 12 hits from 99 shots speak for themselves.
Feldner: “We bite, scratch, try everything”
After the 2:3 after extra time against Budapest, striker Nico Feldner was relieved about his first goal of the season, but remained realistic: “You can’t deny us a certain fight. We bite, scratch, try everything. But at the moment it’s not easy to get rid of.” Nevertheless, the Tyrolean sees no reason to panic: “The season is a marathon and not a sprint. After all, we scored points in seven out of eight games.”
Pressure increases – belief in the button remains
The pressure to succeed in Graz is growing, but internally we remain positive. “We’re putting a lot of pressure on ourselves. It’s deserved and we have to deal with it,” Feldner continued to the “Kronen Zeitung”. “As soon as the button opens, the goals will come. We have strong shooters and passers on the team.”
“24-hour rule” in the cabin
After defeats, there is no long debate: the “24-hour policy” applies in the dressing room – after the video analysis, every game is checked off. Today (4:30 p.m., live on ORF 1) the next big stage awaits: the Vienna Capitals. There the 99ers finally want to shine again with goals in their very first ORF live game.
