At the end of the pre-season, the Steinbach Black Wings Linz will go to Germany this Friday. There you will meet the Augsburg Panther from the DEL in the last test.
Next Friday for the Steinbach Black Wings will go to the last test game before the big strength of strength starts on September 12th. For this, Brian Lebler and Co. will go to the Augsburg Panther in Bavaria tomorrow. After the Panther ended the basic round of DEL in 13th place last season, they could not qualify for the pre-playoffs. From a sporting point of view, the performance would have led to the descent, but the promoted team from the second division did not apply for a license and the team was allowed to keep their place in the German ice hockey league.
Nevertheless, the seasonal placement brought great changes: the head of Head Coach Bill Peters was newly taken over and with 13 new players an almost completely new squad was put together. Among them is the American Kyle Mayhew, who moved from the AHL to the Augsburgers and Joseph Cramarossa. The 32-year-old Canadian played for four seasons in the NHL-one of them for the Anaheim Ducks and three for Minnesota wild. Last year the striker was under contract with the Vienna Capitals.
Loose room update
Head Coach Philipp Lukas plans to draw from the full tomorrow and so the recently spared Collins, Roe and Moro return to the line-up. Luka Maver will not be there due to injury and with newcomer Travis Barron will decide tomorrow whether the registration formalities have been completed in good time. Overall, the sporting leadership is very satisfied with the development in the five test matches and also with the performance of the new additions. One wants to concentrate primarily on the beginning of the game and on the game against the disc.
Next Friday, on September 12th, the big championship start of the Win2day Ice Hockey League will take place in Linz AG Eisarena. The Stahlstädter meet the Pioneers from Vorarlberg. Tickets for this are available online at Tickets.blackwings.at and at the box office.
Statements
Luis Lindner: “I think it will be a very quick game. Augsburg has had difficult seasons lately and now they have changed a lot. I think it will be a great test for us before the start of the season.”
Head Coach Philipp Lukas: “I think we have made progress in every game. Nevertheless, we still have a lot of work ahead of us, especially when it comes to puck management and understanding with each other on the ice. Especially in the last game in the game structure, we had some unnecessary gymnastics that also cost us opportunities. Nevertheless, our energy and our intensity in the game were excellent, we were able to work out a lot of good opportunities and I was not dissatisfied with the last game. Now we go to our last test and we hope for an increase with a hopefully as well as possible line-up and then it starts next Friday. ”
