In the 2024/25 season, Canadian Matt Cairns was already on the ice in the win2day ICE Hockey League, and now he is about to make a comeback.
The 27-year-old defender Matt Cairns made the leap to Europe in the summer of 2024 and signed with Migross Supermercati Asiago Hockey. He played 46 games (19 points) for the Italians before leaving the club for Sweden towards the end of the regular season.
Since the move, Cairns has played 31 games for Swedish second division club IF Björklöven, but he failed to really impress there with just five points. Now there is a possibility of returning to the ICE. His possible new employer? The HCB Südtirol Alperia.
