NHL: Rohrer & Reinbacher survive the first cut!

A first hurdle on the way to the best league in the world. Vinzenz Rohrer and David Reinbacher survived the first cut at the Montreal Canadiens.

The two Vorarlberg cracks appear in the 60-man squad of the prestigious franchise from the Canadian province of Quebec and will continue to train with the team in Brossard. The extensive contingent of the Habs currently has 34 strikers, 19 defenders and seven goalkeepers.

Now it is going on: until October 4, the cracks of the Canadiens are located in the camp, where head coach Martin St. Louis still has to sort out. Until the start of the season on October 8, which the HABs deny at the Toronto Maple Leafs, the squad must be “trimmed” to 23 players. There are enough opportunities to play in the foreground, because Montreal plays a total of six preparatory games.

Both Reinbacher and Rohrer, of course, have the NHL as the goal: “The goal is to be in the squad as long as possible. Let’s see what in the end looks out,” said Rohrer to the “Vorarlberger Nachrichten“.
