Champions League: A formality for the “Z”

The GSHC enters the semi-final return with a handicap of five goals in the Swiss derby which pits it against the Zurich Lions.

The Genevans lost 6-1 in the first leg last Wednesday, at Vernets moreover. The Garnets were also hardly reassured in the National League on Saturday, falling heavily on the ice of the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers (7-3).

Reigning Swiss champion, Zurich for its part defeated Lugano 4-1 at the same time. The Lions should be able to qualify for the final of this Champions League without too much difficulty. They should face the Swedes from Färjestad, who won 6-2 in Prague in the semi-final first leg.
