ICEHL: HC Innsbruck is hoping for a turnaround against KAC!

KAC (H), Bozen (A), Salzburg (H) – this week’s program could be for HC TIWAG Innsbruck-The Sharks not be more challenging. The Haie desperately need points after their recent defeats. So why not against the “big ones” of the league, like tomorrow’s opponent EC-KAC?

Striker Lukas Baer: “We are definitely positive. The coaches will prepare us well for the KAC. We generally always enjoy playing against the Klagenfurt team, and we have usually had an easier time against the top teams this season.” Despite four bankruptcies in a row, the mood in the team is still good. It is now important to get out of the slump together, says Sebastian Benker: “It can change every week, but we have to do our part. We have to go out, fight, everyone has to run and work for everyone, then we can hope to turn things around as quickly as possible.”

KAC has been in good form recently

As expected, the KAC is once again one of the top teams in the league this season. The squad remained largely the same over the summer, with players like From, Mursak, Hundertpfund and Herburger leading the red jackets. The Carinthians are in third place in the table, three points behind leader Pustertal. The KAC has been hard to beat in 60 minutes in recent weeks. Since the beginning of October, the KAC has only lost one of 15 games after regular playing time, otherwise they have always scored points. The Klagenfurt team had to accept this one defeat after 60 minutes almost two weeks ago against their arch rivals from Villach.

The Haie and KAC have met once so far this season. At the end of October, the Carinthians remained victorious on home ice with 5:1. The Haie celebrated their last win against the KAC almost a year ago to the day, when the Tyroleans prevailed 4-3 in the TIWAG Arena.
