With the Canadian Travis St. Denis, the EC Red Bull Salzburg has brought an experienced striker to the team for the coming season with a piercing player. The 32-year-old moves from the German ice hockey league to Salzburg, where he recently caused a sensation with hard gait and offensive qualities.
St. Denis, who had previously been active for the Straubing Tigers and Ingolstadt, was considered a feared attacker in the DEL – less because of his goals than because of his uncompromising style of play. In November, with a ruthless check against Red Bull Munich, he caused five games lock and a fine. The league’s disciplinary committee at the time described him as “multiple repeat offenders” who accepted the opponent’s injuries.
A year earlier, St. Denis had noticed negatively by a check against the head of Augsburg’s Dave Warsofsky. Warsofsky had to go to the hospital after the attack and then even ended his career.
In Salzburg, however, the 1.71 meter tall striker is refined. In conversation with the Salzburger news He explained: “I’m just a smaller guy, so I have to play very physically and practiced it throughout my career. Of course I don’t want to hurt anyone. But that’s just part of the game and sometimes happens.”
His reputation as a robbery hurries ahead, but in Salzburg St. Denis primarily wants to shine in a sporty way in terms of sport, with a clear goal in mind: the fifth championship title in a row. “I really want to get the fifth title with Salzburg,” emphasized the newcomer to the
Salzburger news.
