The Vienna Capitals lose the last game before the November international break against EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV 0:3.
There were no goals in the first third, with the Viennese only scoring two goals in the power play. In the middle third, Nikita Scherbak (31st) and John Hughes (39th) score for the guests. In the final third, Philipp Lindner scored the goal in the power play to make the final score (45th/PP1).
Statement Fabian Scholz, interim head coach of the Vienna Capitals, after the game:
“We started the first third well, had two shots on goal in the first power play and got more shots on goal. We couldn’t capitalize on any of them. We were there until the 12th minute in the second third. We had a few great chances up until then. Then we got the goals to make it 0-1 and 0-2 through individual mistakes. In the middle of the third period we caused a penalty that you can’t accept. Unfortunately, Villach was too good in the power play. After that we tried to press again, but had to Another shot from the pole by Mitch. We tried to do everything we could, but there wasn’t much going on offensively. I hope that the players can gather some energy over the international break and think about what they need to do better.
The Vienna Capitals continue after the international break on November 12th with an away game at FTC-Telekom Budapest (6.30 p.m.).
