After a few years in the city of Mozart, Villach native Lucas Thaler moved abroad. He joins EHC Red Bull Munich.
Thaler made his professional ice hockey debut in 2020/21 and played in 179 ICEHL games for EC Red Bull Salzburg by the end of last season. He was able to collect 98 scorer points. His points tally has increased steadily in recent years; in 2025/26 he scored 13 goals and 30 points. After four titles with the Mozartstadt band, the collaboration ended and Thaler wants to take the next step.

This should happen in Munich, not too far away, where Thaler has now been officially presented as a new addition. His shirt number remains the same, as he will also wear 48 in Munich. Bayern will also see former Bulls coach Olivier David again.

For Munich, the 2025/26 season ended with a 1:4 semi-final defeat against Adler Mannheim. As of now, the Isar team already has 23 players under contract (three goalkeepers, six defenders and 14 strikers).
