The Alps Hockey League starts the new season on Saturday, September 20. 13 teams take part in the tenth season of the cross -border league. The schedule of the 2025/26 season initially provides for 36 basic passes per team. Right at the start, among other things, the final new edition between the defending champion EK The Zeller Eisbären and Sij Acroni Jesenice.
13 teams from Italy (7), Austria (4), Slovenia (1) and Croatia (1) deny the anniversary season of the Alps Hockey League. Already on the first match day there is a new edition of last year’s final between Meister EK Die Zeller Eisbären and Sij Acroni Jesenice. In April, the Pinzgauer prevailed with a 4-1 series victory and was the first Austrian team to vouch for the master of the multinational league. Returnman Asiago is a guest at the start of the Rittner Buam Skyalps. In addition, a South Tyrol derby between the hockey Unterland Cavaliers and the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan is on the program. The EC Bregenzerwald will not be the only team at the start.

Top 5 teams fixed in the playoffs
After the basic round of 36 games per team, the top 5 qualify for the playoffs and play in the Master Round for the best starting position for them. The remaining eight teams fight in two qualifications round groups for moving into the pre-playoffs, in which the three remaining quarterfinal places are awarded. Both the Master Round and the Qualification Round are held in the first and second half of the season.
Main game days: Thursday and Saturday
As in previous years, the main game days of the Alps Hockey League remain on Thursday and Saturday. Due to logistical and infrastructural requirements, targeted “road trips” will be planned again in the coming season, which occasionally also takes place on other weekdays.
