ICEHL: Pioneers Vorarlberg go to the fourth ICE season with anticipation!

At the Pioneers Vorarlberg, too, the official start of the Win2day Ice Hockey League season 2025/26 is facing preparation for the Win2day Ice Hockey League. In the Ländle you look forward to the fourth season in the multinational league.

You want to quickly forget the past season, in which you ended up in the eleventh place in the table with 53 points and thus also said goodbye to the summer break. In the end, the Pioneers lacked four points on a pre-playoff place. A lot has been changed in the Feldkirchers: only a legionnaire of last year’s impression also strips the Pioneers jersey this year. For this you could hold the majority of the local cracks. A total of 14 players who ran for Vorarlberg in the previous year are again part of the party.

The new head coach, Johannes Nygard is already full of anticipation for the beginning of the intensive preparation: “I am not nervous, on the contrary: I am pleased that it finally starts again,” says the Finn, who worked the last as assistant coach at the Pioneers. Tomorrow Monday there will be the starting signal for the coming season: “The first few days are all about performance tests to see how fit the boys come from summer. From Tuesday, the shared units will start on the ice,” the 31-year-old told the Vorarlbergers Nachrichten.

Due to the eight new cracks so far, you will pay attention to team building: “We have many new faces in the team again. So it is important to us that the team finds and get to know each other quickly.” In the end, the squad planning is not yet complete. An import player is said to come. There is no name, but according to your own statements you are quite far in the negotiations. If everything works, then a North American center forward could join the team next week.

In two weeks, the first test for the Pioneers Vorarlberg will be on the program. Then you duel with the HC Thurgau. A few days before, on August 14th, there is the official team presentation.
