In a real goal spectacle, HC Innsbruck surprisingly prevailed against the league leaders from Laibach. The Haie won 6:7 in overtime with a power play goal!
HC TIWAG Innsbruck, last in the win2day ICE Hockey League before this encounter, celebrated a 7:6 overtime victory over league leaders Olimpija Ljubljana. The league leader initially had the better start, taking the lead in the seventh minute. But the answer from Innsbruck followed quickly. Until the score was 3-3 in the 33rd minute, the same picture continued to emerge: Ljubljana led the way and the Sharks followed suit. Then Innsbruck took the lead for the first time and scored three times – but all goals were promptly answered by the Dragons until the game finally went into extra time with the score at 6:6. There, Max Coatta ultimately made the decision in favor of the Tyroleans. He and Sebastian Benker each scored a brace.
