Vienna Capitals celebrate shutout success over HC Bozen!

The Vienna Capitals took a big step towards the pre-playoffs in the duel against HCB Südtirol. In front of their home crowd, the Viennese team beat the Füchse 3-0. The gap to 11th place is now six points.

The Vienna Capitals celebrated their first shutout win of the current season against HCB Südtirol Alperia. Caps goalie Sebastian Wraneschitz parried all 27 shots at his goal, securing the Viennese’s 3-0 win, which saw them climb to seventh place in the table. In a balanced starting third, Benjamin Lanzinger, who disrupted the Foxes’ build-up, made his first statement and made it 1-0 in the 13th minute. In the second half, the South Tyroleans had a little more of the game, but the Viennese remained the more efficient team and increased their lead to 2-0 through Mitch Hults. Carter Souch ultimately made the decision in the power play in the final third.

While the Foxes were not able to book their playoff ticket with this defeat, the Viennese managed to make a big jump in the table – they now lead the chasing group in places seven to eleven.
