ICEHL: HCI legionnaire celebrates his league debut today!

A special challenge awaits the cracks of HC TIWAG Innsbruck-Die Haie today, as they are away against the reigning champions Red Bull Salzburg. Due to their recently increasing form curve, the Sharks are fighting.

“I’ve never played against them before, but I know that they’re a really good team. But so are we. That’s why I’m optimistic going into the game,” he says HCI striker Benjamin Corbeil. It looks similar Marcel Witting: “Of course they are a top team with top players, it’s not for nothing that they have celebrated so many successes. But we have to think about ourselves, we have shown that we can not only annoy the big players, but also challenge and beat them if we bring our game to the ice.”

One will make his league debut in the Eisarena Salzburg. Matt Wilkins is fit again after the injury he suffered in preparation and is eager for his first appearance: “I’m really looking forward to it. It’s never nice to be injured and have to watch your team. We’ve improved in the last few weeks, now I want to help ensure that we continue to move up, including in the table.” Unfortunately things look different Emmett Sproule out of. The striker is missing in Salzburg due to an injury, further investigations will follow.

Salzburg, plagued by a few injuries, started the season with ups and downs. After four wins in the first four games, the champions’ engine started to stutter a bit. In October, for example, the Bulls had a record of just one win in five games. However, Salzburg also has to contend with the double burden of the Champion Hockey League. The Bulls recently showed a top performance there. With a 4-1 win over German champions Eisbären Berlin, they qualified for the round of the last 16 teams.
