Moving abroad? – Austro-Crack leaves Red Bull Salzburg!

Lucas Thaler is leaving EC Red Bull Salzburg and wants to take the next step in his professional career. The 24-year-old from Villach came to Salzburg in 2021 and has developed into a dangerous striker in the Red Bulls’ professional team.

Thaler moved from the Swedish U20 league (Mora IK) to the Red Bull Ice Hockey Academy in Salzburg- Liefering in January 2021 and made his professional debut in the same season. In the years that followed, he earned a permanent place in the Salzburg professional team and consistently demonstrated his instinct for scoring goals. In the last three seasons he has always been one of the Red Bulls’ top 5 goalscorers. For the Salzburg ice hockey club, with whom he became champion of the win2day ICE Hockey League four times, the striker scored 62 goals and 59 assists in a total of 237 games.

Thaler is likely to move to sister club Red Bull Munich. But nothing has been officially confirmed yet.
