Two ICEHL championship favorites are in deep crisis!

EC Red Bull Salzburg and HC Bozen are in a form crisis. After disappointing performances in the last rounds, the two title candidates have slipped down the table!

The Salzburger Eisbullen suffered their fifth defeat in a row on Friday in Graz and are now outside the direct play-off ranks in 7th place. An unusual place in the table for the Bulls, although they will always remain the top favorite for the title. But at the moment things are not going according to plan. Players like Peter Schneider (only 3 goals in 17 games), Thomas Raffl (5 points in 16 games) are following their form from last year. New signing Brandon Coe managed one assist in eight games. Keeper Atte Tolvanen has also not yet been able to match his performances from previous years. He currently has a catch rate of 90.5%.

At the same time, HC Bozen suffered a 1:4 defeat at second-placed Ljubljana, their fourth defeat in their last five league games, which resulted in them falling to fifth place. The Foxes don’t seem to be in a good place at the moment without four injured top performers, where the defense is often porous and the offense is negligent. Coach Kurt Kleinendorst now urgently needs to find ways to boost his ailing foxes.
