Hydro Fehérvár AV19 has a new head coach: Canadian Ted Dent takes over as coach of the Hungarian win2day ICE Hockey League team.
The 55-year-old was head coach of the Augsburg Panthers in the DEL last season. Previously, Dent worked for many years in North America, in the OHL, AHL and ECHL. At the beginning of the 2000s, he also worked as a video coordinator for the Washington Capitals in the NHL for several years.
“Every coach expects his team to play fast, hard and competitive ice hockey – and that corresponds exactly to my philosophy,” explains the new head coach of Hydro Fehérvár AV19. “I want to form a team in which the players work for each other, everyone knows their role and is valued. I believe that everyone contributes something to success – we can only be really strong together. To achieve this, we need clear structures and uniform principles in which details and good habits make the difference. I want people to say about us: Playing against them is difficult. No matter whether we are leading or behind – we want to play hard, organized and determined, control the puck and not waste anything. The opponent should take every opportunity “We have to work hard to score a goal. We have to be well organized in all game situations – in the power play, in the penalty kill and in the build-up game.”
