Two experienced professionals from the Central European hockey scene are currently without a club and could be of interest to numerous clubs. Both Slovenian defender Miha Štebih and Czech attacker Tomáš Svoboda bring plenty of experience.
Miha Stebih
The 34-year-old Slovenian Miha Štebih can look back on a long career across Europe. In the domestic league, the giant played for VSV and Olimpija Ljubljana. With Villach, Stebih collected 12 assists in 52 games in the 2017/18 season.
In the 2021/22 season, Štebih played for Olimpija in the ICEHL and played 41 games in which he collected 10 scorer points (3 goals, 7 assists). He was also used in the playoffs. In total, he has almost 100 games of experience in the league.
In addition to the ICEHL, Štebih played in the Czech Republic, France and Poland, among others. He is also a long-time team player for Slovenia at world championships.
Tomas Svoboda
With Tomáš Svoboda, a much more offensive player is available again. The 39-year-old winger brings enormous experience and has already proven his scoring abilities on several occasions.
Productive time in the EBEL/ICEHL
Svoboda played for Orli Znojmo in what was then the EBEL and later ICEHL and left behind strong numbers there. In a total of 94 games, he collected an impressive 84 points (27 goals, 57 assists) – an average of almost one point per game.
The 2019/20 season is particularly noteworthy, in which he was one of his team’s top scorers with 48 points.
