Big ice hockey evening for HCB South Tyrol Alperia. The Foxes prevailed 4: 3 at the Finnish Team Lukko Rauma, turning a two-goal deficit and increasing the sack 21 seconds before the final siren thanks to a power play goal from Bradley.
The first three points in this fifth participation in the Champions Hockey League for the white-red, which were last won in the European stage on October 5, 2021.
The game happens: Coach Kleinendorst sends the same lines as on Friday evening in Sweden on the ice: McClure is injured, Seed has remained in Bolzano, where he will soon become a father for the second time.
The home side starts powerfully, but a high stick against Gazley brings the Foxes four -minute outnumber. Salons initially hold against Schneider, then Gersich hits the inner post after preparatory work by Pollock. The Finns do better: In the 10th minute, Beaucage uses a rebound in front of Harvey and puts Lukko in the lead. Rauma remains game -determining, but Harvey shines several times, including Morand and Stenqvist. After 20 minutes, Lukko leads 1-0.
In the second third, Harvey is immediately the focus – strong parades against Olsson and Krannila. Bolzano tries to come into play aggressively via Barberio, Pollock has the best chance, but Salons parried. In direct return, Lukko increases in the 30th minute: Gélinas pounds the puck from the blue line exactly into the Kreuzeck – 2: 0. It looks bad for the Foxes, which shortly afterwards are also outnumbered. However, the connection goal is in particular: Misley completes a single -hand hand with the backhand. That was the turning point of the game. Rauma answers with angry attacks, but Harvey keeps outstanding, including against Olsson up close. 45 seconds before the end of the third end, the Foxes strike in the power play: Gazley and Bradley combine worth seeing, Gersich hits 2: 2 by direct acceptance.
In the final third, the Foxes initially tremble when Jandric only hits the post in front of Harvey alone. But then the Bozen strikes ice cold: In the 42nd minute, Schneider shoots fantastic into the Kreuzeck from an acute angle – 2: 3. A little later, Digiacinto awards the preliminary decision, and so Lukko comes in the 51st minute through Stenqvist to 3: 3 equalization. The Finns are now pressing for victory, but failed again and again due to the outstanding Harvey, who pulls both Peters and Intons the tooth. In the last few minutes, the Foxes develop two power plays. In the first it remains harmless, but 21 seconds before the end the decision is made: Valentine pulls off, Bradley fells off – 3: 4. Game, set, match.
“Today we showed that we can survive difficult phases, steer the game and use our possibilities – as coach small endorst immediately after the game. I would like to praise the boys: they put the rice traps away and found a way to win this game. It is a victory of the character and we deserve these three points.”
With three points from two games on the long trip to Scandinavia, Frank and Co. will return to Bolzano tomorrow. On Wednesday there is a test game against HC Merano in the Merana arena (8:00 p.m.) before continuing in the Champions Hockey League with a big weekend in the Sparkasse Arena: Friday, September 5 (7:45 p.m.) against Kometa Brno (CZE), Sunday, 3:30 p.m.) against Mountfield HK (CZE).
