Last year’s Olimpija Ljubljana crack Alexandre Lavoie has now found a new employer after his contract in the French league was terminated. The Canadian is moving within the league!
Lavoie only moved to France after his ICEHL season ended after he failed to impress at Olimpija Ljubljana. In the ICE Hockey League, the 30-year-old only managed five goals and 16 assists in 41 games for the Dragons, meaning he fell short of expectations and was not extended.
The Canadian previously played for HC Innsbruck in the 2018/19 season, where he had 34 points in 51 games. Last season he finally returned to the ICEHL and signed with Laibach. This season he started with Marseille in the French league.
Statistically, things went much better there: the flexible center collected 24 scorer points in 26 appearances for Marseille. Nevertheless, the separation took place, and neither side gave any information about the exact reasons.
Now Lavoie is moving within the league and is joining Rouen. There he meets two league-famous cracks in Patrick Holway (last season at VSV) and goalkeeper Mac Carruth (formerly Fehervar).
