Austria’s national ice hockey team achieved an important success in the friendly against Italy. In the 3-2 win after overtime, the team showed an appealing performance at times and thus set the first positive accents with a view to the upcoming World Cup in Switzerland. Bitter setback for Elias Wallenta
The evening was less pleasant for Vorarlberg striker Elias Wallenta. The winger had to leave the ice early after a hard check and was unable to continue playing. The pain in his shoulder was too great, which is why he had to end the game after two thirds, as the “Vorarlberger Nachrichten” reports.
Diagnosis is still pending
A detailed medical clarification is still pending. Only in the coming days will it become clear how serious the injury actually is. This also leaves it unclear whether Wallenta will be fit in time to take part in the team camp.
