The VSV reacted to a media report today from the “Kronen Zeitung” about alleged financial problems. The board published an official statement about this.
Dear fans, sponsors, supporters and members of the EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV,
We would like to contact you directly today to provide a transparent and clear statement on current media reports. The EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV is currently confronted with a changed legal opinion of the authority as part of a “joint examination of wage-related taxes and contributions” (GPLB). This concerns the tax assessment of benefits in kind as well as the tax-exempt flat-rate travel expense allowance for activities in the youth sector (PRAE).
This new legal assessment contradicts a previous audit in which the relevant issues were not disputed in any way, as well as agreements documented in writing. We have lodged an appeal against this changed legal opinion. This is therefore an ongoing process, the legal clarification of which will take place in the near future. Regardless of this, the EC VSV has already started to create appropriate provisions in the spirit of responsible and forward-looking corporate management.
The EC VSV expressly makes it clear that the claim made in today’s Kronen Zeitung article that people were falsely registered in order to receive funding has no factual or legal basis.
This representation is incorrect. The fact is that all funding applications were always submitted correctly, completely and in accordance with the applicable legal provisions.
We therefore call on the medium in question to immediately clarify this incorrect representation. Regardless of this, we state unequivocally: The current season is fully financed and we are already working with full intensity on planning the coming season.
