Catenacci, who also played 18 times for the Italian national team, came to Bolzano in the summer of 2018. The striker had previously played 12 NHL games and 309 games in the AHL. He was drafted by Buffalo in the third round in 2011. After four seasons at HC Bozen, Catenacci laced up his skates for HC Pustertal for two more years. In the ICE Hockey League he played a total of 270 games and recorded 152 points.
In his last season, the father of three played for the Guildford Flames in Great Britain, where he shone with 31 points in 47 games. At the end of his career, Catenacci expressed his deep gratitude in an Instagram statement: “Ice hockey has been the focus of my life for as long as I can remember. I was lucky enough to be able to live my childhood dream – and for that I will be forever grateful.”
