Jason Akeson won’t end up with KAC, but another Canadian with ICEHL experience could now solve the center problem for the Red Jackets.
The KAC is still looking for a center after the loss of Thomas Hunfertpfund and recently the name Jason Akeson was floating around in Klagenfurt. However, it is now clear that the 35-year-old former Pustertal striker will not move to Lake Wörthersee.
Now the “Kleine Zeitung” is bringing a new striker into the conversation who has also already proven his qualities in the ICEHL. Adam Rockwood, who scored 30 points in 49 games for the Innsbrucker Haie in 2023/24, is said to be a topic at the KAC.
The 30-year-old joined Slovakia after his year in Tyrol and became a Wandervogel there and is currently with the third team. In a total of 68 games in the Slovak league he scored 18 goals and 47 assists.
Rockwood is said to be high on the KAC’s shortlist, but it is still unclear whether an engagement will actually take place.
