The Preseason is coming to an end and the new season of Icehl is just around the corner. Time to take a look at the teams and deal with the squads with which the 13 clubs go into the new season. We present the squad, you take over the evaluation: with our survey tool at the end of the article.
For the fifth time in a row, Fehervar reached the playoffs last season, but failed for the third time in a row in the quarter -finals. Will it continue this year? Maybe even to the final where you were already in 2022? In Hungary, one seems to have great confidence in last year’s squad, because only four new cracks have been hired in the off-season. Maybe that’s the key to success?
TRAINER
David Kiss will also be on the Gangars gang in the coming season and will go into his third season as a head coach. The 35-year-old was replaced by Pioneers coach Johannes Nygard (31) as the youngest coach in the league this year, but that for a head coach rather unusual age does not stand for a lack of experience. KISS has been in the coaching business for over ten years and knows the association in, by heart. The rest of the coaching team also remains unchanged, with which Tyler Dietrich and Samuli Nordman continue to work alongside KISS.
GOALKEEPER
The goalkeeper constellation is just as unchanged. The Magyaren continues to trust the Duo Reijola/Horvath, both of whom both appeared in the top 10 goalies. Rasmus Reijola thus goes into his second season with the Hungarians and deserves it. Last season he showed a good performance, especially in the playoffs he was convincing. Dominik Horvath will also come back to regular missions. The owner and Hungarian team goalie is always there when it is needed and thus completes a strong Goalieduo.
DEFENSE
There was also little reason to change something in the defense. With an average of only 2.6 goals per game, you were in the top field of last season. The penaltykilling was also okay with 83%. With Tim Campbell, Joel Messner and Martin Stajnoch, some of the most important cornerstones remain. The domestic supports Bence Stipsicz, Adam Falus and Roland Kiss are also there. With Josh Atkinson and Cameron Gaunte, two veterans left the team. This is compensated for legionnaire with a league -known legionnaire. The Norwegian Ole Einar Engeland Andersen was clawed from HC Pustertal. The 26-year-old impressively demonstrated his offensive strengths in his first year with five goals and 24 assists and should therefore also ensure offensive output.

STRIKER
If there is potential for improvement, then on the offensive. 142 hits in the basic round were not famous, and the power play was almost disastrous with only 13.4%. Only the Pioneers Vorarlberg and Laibach (12.7%each) had an even weaker cut. For comparison: HC Innsbruck provided the best outnumber of the league and used 24.4% of its power plays. So you got fresh blood and strengthened the offensive with three new legionnaires and adopted Chase Berger and Chris Brown, who ended his career.
All three new additions come from the DEL, with two at least some eechehl experience. Drake Rymsha played 41 games for Red Bull Salzburg in 2023/24 and already showed his class. Last season he stormed in Düsseldorf and was the third best scorer with 15 goals. Justin Richards also comes from Düsseldorf. The American, who once won two college titles, played his first in Europe last season. Darren Archibald is also new. The 35-year-old force package played for the Vienna Capitals at the end of the 2020/21 season and showed 21 scorer points from 25 missions before moving to Wolfsburg. There he has been constant for the past four years and is now also supposed to do so in Hungary.
In addition to the three new additions, the red devil rely on the tried and tested. Top scorer Janos Hari has a contract until 2029 and Trevor Cheek could stay in Hungary longer. He not only signed for another for the coming season, but also with an option. The routiners Istvan Bartalis and Balint Margosi also hang for a season, in addition there are also Kuralt and Rasmus Kulmala in the line-up. The remaining offensive team consists of the team players Istvan Terbocs, Kristof Nemeth, Balasz Varga, Csanad Erdely and Akos Mihaly, with which the team from Szekesfehrar could all hold its domestic top performers despite new competition from the Hungarian capital.
Now you are on: Where can you see Fekevar in the coming season?
