ÖEHV: Intensive program for Austria’s women’s ice hockey national team!

Over the next week and a half, Austria’s national women’s ice hockey team will complete an intensive program. This Wednesday, Innsbruck will welcome Japan, which is preparing for the Winter Olympics. From February 5th to 8th, Klagenfurt invites you to the Wörthersee Trophy, a 6-nation tournament in which Austria, Slovakia, Hungary, Switzerland, Norway and Denmark take part.

For these tasks, head coach Alexander Bröms can also rely on the two PWHL legionnaires Anna Meixner and Theresa Schafzahl. In general, the strongest possible squad is offered, with numerous legionnaires as well as players from the domestic championship who are also involved in the EWHL.

It starts first in Innsbruck, where Olympic participants Japan will be welcomed this Wednesday at 6:15 p.m. The Asians have qualified for the five rings tournament for the fourth time in a row and have been consistently represented in the top division at world championships since 2019.

At the Wörthersee Trophy in Klagenfurt, Switzerland will once again meet Olympic participants next week. The six participating nations are divided into two groups of three. The group stage will be played on February 5th, 6th and 7th, with the placement games on Sunday, February 8th.

Austria will face Switzerland at the start on February 5th at 7:15 p.m. and Denmark on February 6th. The respective group winners then play for tournament victory, the runners-up in the group for third place and the third in the group for fifth place.
