AlpsHL: RB Juniors win the Salzburg derby – Sisak still on top!

The KHL Sisak consolidated its lead in the Alps Hockey League with an away win against the Rittner Buam SkyAlps.

HC Gherdeina valgardena.it climbed to second place after a derby win in Sterzing, while the Red Bull Hockey Juniors put an exclamation mark with a clear home win over defending champions EK Die Zeller Eisbären. HC Meran/o Pircher turned their game in Cortina around at the last minute and celebrated their second win in a row.

Sisak wins the top game on Ritten

League leaders KHL Sisak showed the right reaction after the defeat in Val Gardena and won the top game at the Rittner Buam SkyAlps 3-1. The Croatians laid the foundation for victory in the first third with goals from Vito Idzan and Danila Larionovs. Although Jacob Crespi shortened the score for Ritten, Marijus Dumcius made the decision in the final period. With 14 points from six games, Sisak remains at the top of the table, while Ritten slipped to sixth place with ten points.

Gherdeina wins the South Tyrol derby

In the South Tyrol derby between the Wipptal Broncos Weihenstephan and HC Gherdeina valgardena.it, the guests retained the upper hand 2-1. Sacha Guimond gave Val Gardena the lead in the first third, and Stephan Deluca followed up a little later. Franco Sproviero caused tension shortly before the end, but Gherdeina brought victory over time. The “Furie” are celebrating their third success in a row and are now moving up to second place in the table with twelve points. The Broncos are just behind in fourth place with eleven points.

Juniors celebrate derby success over champions Zell

In the Salzburg derby, the Red Bull Hockey Juniors clearly won 5-1 against defending champions EK Die Zeller Eisbären. After an early deficit, Vadim Schreiner, Florian Lanzinger, Nick Maul (2) and Maxim Eliseev turned the game around to a convincing home win. With their third win of the season, head coach Teemu Levijoki’s team moved up to third place and is now level on points with Gherdeina. Zell am See is in ninth place after the fourth game.

Meran is filming the game in Cortina

HC Meran/o Pircher celebrated a dramatic last-minute victory with a 3-2 win in Cortina. After goals from Lorenzo Pilan and Daniel Gellon, the guests were already behind before Rasmus Nousiainen and twice David Trivellato turned the game around in the final phase. The winning goal came 14 seconds before the end. Meran celebrated its second win in a row and improved to eighth place with eight points. Cortina remains seventh with also eight points.

After six rounds, Sisak remains in the lead, followed by Gherdeina and Red Bull Hockey Juniors. The Broncos and Kitzbühel complete the top five, while Meran continues to climb. Unterland, Jesenice and Asiago are currently at the bottom of the table.
