The Pioneers’ 4-1 defeat against Laibach was Vorarlberg’s tenth defeat of the season. But it was overshadowed by a shocking moment involving Nathan Burke.
“We simply conceded too many penalties, and the best powerplay game in the league takes advantage of such opportunities,” said Julian Metzler after the 4-1 defeat against leader Laibach. The Slovenians scored two of the four goals with the advantage and got the three points.
But the defeat wasn’t the only thing the Pioneers had to deal with. As the “Vorarlberger Nachrichten” reports, Nathan Burke had to be taken to the hospital by emergency doctor during the first third break. The reason for this: acute shortness of breath. An official statement from the Pioneers is still pending, but Burke was approachable.
