Contract extensions and first new signings: HC Innsbruck wants to be involved again in the future!

At the HC Innsbruck partner evening in the Olympiahalle, the club wanted to go under the motto “An honest look. A common path.” Provide insights into the present and future. Around 80 fans, sponsors and partners showed up to get answers after another disappointing sporting season.

The speeches, which lasted almost an hour, focused primarily on analysis, but specific sporting measures remained largely unresolved. Marketing director Jürgen Zimmermann pointed out the high quality of the league, the financial imbalance compared to other clubs and emphasized the need for realism. The HCI named a placement between seventh and tenth place in the basic round as a short-term goal and thus a place in the pre-play-offs. In the medium and long term, the aim is to achieve less squad turnover and develop into a stable professional club.

A new general manager is being sought

One thing in particular became clear: the sharks need more financial resources in order to become more competitive. A task that the new manager will also take on, which is not yet known. The only thing that is clear is that Günther Hanschitz will retire at the end of 2026/27. A sporting director remains a dream project for the time being, but is currently not a priority.

The first new arrivals are already confirmed

Coach Ryan Kinasewich made a clear commitment to the club and announced that he would also be on the team next season. The first contract extensions, including with Steven Owre, have been confirmed. According to the “Tiroler Tageszeitung”, the first new arrivals have already been confirmed. Brady Shaw is rumored but not yet confirmed. Further names are not yet known.
