AlpsHL: RB Juniors defeat the Adler Kitzbühel – Ritten dominates the South Tyrol derby!

On Tuesday, all four games in the Alps Hockey League went to the home teams. The Red Bull Hockey Juniors narrowly beat Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel 2-1, overtook the Tyroleans in the table and are now in third place.

The Rittner Buam SkyAlps celebrated a clear 5-1 win against HC Gherdeina valgardena.it, ending the Val Gardena team’s four-game winning streak. Leonardo Felicetti shone with a hat trick. The EK Die Zeller Eisbären and HDD Jesenice were also successful.

The Red Bull Hockey Juniors celebrated a narrow 2-1 home win against Adler Stadtwerke Kitzbühel and are now third in the table. With 14 points, Salzburg are two points ahead of fifth-placed Kitzbühel, which suffered its second defeat in a row. In the fifth home game of the season, the Juniors celebrated their third win and have scored points in all home games so far. It wasn’t until the 36th minute that Mathias Böhm gave the home team the lead. It remained 1-0 until shortly before the end, before Nico Koschek made it 2-0 in the 59th minute – Kitzbühel had already taken the goalie off the ice. RBJ goalkeeper Luca Haitzmann narrowly missed a shutout as Kitzbühel captain Henrik Hochfilzer scored 36 seconds before the end of the game to make the final score 2-1.

Felicetti shines in Rittner Buam’s home win

HC Gherdeina valgardena.it’s four-game winning streak came to an end in Ritten. In the derby, the Rittner Buam SkyAlps won clearly with 5:1. Leonardo Felicetti became man of the match with three goals – from 3:1 to 5:1, including a shorthander. Val Gardena remains second in the table, but could have jumped to the top of the table with a win in Ritten. Ritten is in fourth place, just one point behind.

Home win for Zell am See against Cortina

In front of almost 1,900 fans, defending champions EK Die Zeller Eisbären showed a strong performance and defeated SG Cortina Hafro 3-1. Tim Coffman gave the home side the lead in the sixth minute – his fourth goal in the last two games after scoring a hat-trick in Asiago on Saturday. In the first third, 16-year-old Paul Sintschnig increased the score to 2-0 with a penalty. The EC iDM Heat Pumps VSV cooperation player was named Young Star of the Month in the win2day ICE Hockey League in September after being the youngest player to score a brace. In the 3-1 win by Christian Jennes (45th, power play), Sintschnig provided the assist as well as in the 1-0 win. Cortina only managed a consolation goal when they were outnumbered eight minutes before the end. With the win, Zell am See climbed to sixth place in the table, while Cortina is in ninth place.

Jesenice wins in a high-scoring game

In the fourth game of the day, HDD Jesenice prevailed 7:4 against the Hockey Unterland Cavaliers in an offensive duel. It was the second win of the season for last year’s finalists, while Unterland remains at the bottom of the table. Jasa Jenko and Tjas Lesnicar each scored twice. After Unterland had already taken the lead in the fourth minute, Jesenice pulled ahead to 4-1 by the 25th minute and ultimately celebrated an unchallenged home win.
