In a largely even first third, Bozen took the lead in the twelfth minute: After a serious mistake in the Caps defense, Pascal Brunner scored his second goal of the season – he had also scored the first in the last duel with the Viennese. In the final period, Bozen initially had more of the game, but without creating any compelling chances. On the other side, 20-year-old Felix Koschek gave the Caps the lead again in the 53rd minute when he capitalized on a rebound. A little later, Carter Souch increased the score to 4:2 after a quick counterattack via Wallner. In the final minute, Linden Vey sealed the final score 5-2 with an empty net goal.
In the table, the Capitals drew level with tenth-placed Linz on points; head coach Kevin Constantine’s team will be visiting Bruneck on Sunday.
