The EC-KAC has to accept the next personnel setback: defender David Maier will be missing from the Red Jackets for several weeks. According to the club, the 26-year-old suffered a lower body injury and is therefore not available to the team for the time being. But there is also positive news to report!
Maier showed strong performances this season and was a reliable factor in defense. In 20 games this season, the KAC defender collected nine scorer points and also impressed with solid defensive play and a lot of effort. His failure is correspondingly serious.
But there is also positive news from the hospital: the two import defenders are set to return to the ice. Jesper Jensen Aabo completed his first light ice training on Wednesday. Jordan Murray is scheduled to make this move at Friday’s morning skate.
If the healing process continues to be positive for both, a comeback before the long international and Olympic break in February is definitely possible. In this way, the KAC could at least compensate for some of the personnel shortages in the defense in the foreseeable future, since Josh Teves, an important crack, will also be out for an uncertain period of time.
