ICEHL: The Graz99ers give a personnel update!

The Moser Medical Graz99ers are setting off on their last road trip of the intense winter phase. On Friday (7:15 p.m.) the Styrians will play at HC Innsbruck, followed just 24 hours later by the away game at Pioneers Vorarlberg on Saturday (7:30 p.m.). A total of around 1,400 bus kilometers are waiting for the team.

For the Graz99ers these are the last two of ten games within 23 days – an extremely tight phase that the team has mastered successfully so far. Seven wins from eight games brought 19 out of 24 possible points and ensured a strong starting position in the table: only two points behind leaders KAC, at the same time the lead over Salzburg and Bozen is six points.

Players like Manuel Ganahl do not see the long journeys as an additional burden. The trips are well organized, and away games in his hometown of Vorarlberg are always something special. Head coach Dan Lacroix also looks forward to the road trip and emphasizes the value of the time together on the road – not least since it is his first long away phase with the team.

The personnel situation is easing

In terms of personnel, the situation is easing, as the Graz99ers report. After medical examinations on Max Lagacé, Nico Brunner and Paul Reiner, no serious injuries were found. Anders Koch could also return to the line-up before the Olympic break.

In terms of sport, Lacroix wants to build on his recent achievements. Discipline, stable goalkeeping, consistent play with four lines and a functioning power play should also be the key to success in Innsbruck and Vorarlberg. However, Manuel Ganahl warns about the qualities of both opponents and calls for concentrated performances in order to take advantage of the good chances of two more victories.
