EC Bregenzerwald celebrated its third win in a row on Friday evening. The Vorarlbergers prevailed at Cortina 4-3 after extra time. With two goals, Usko Laaksonen became the match winner.
Bregenzerwald got off to a better start and took the lead in the eighth minute with a power play goal from Toivo Laaksonen. Before the break, Posch increased the score to 2-0. But Cortina found their way back in the middle period and equalized with a power play one-two from Kris Pietroniro and Kalajanniska. Although the Italians had more of the game in the third period, the guests went ahead again – this time Usko Laaksonen scored when they were outnumbered. But this time too, Cortina struck back: Massimo Pietroniro equalized and forced extra time. Usko Laaksonen once again made the decision with his second goal of the evening.
With the away win, Bregenzerwald climbed to eighth place, while Cortina was able to take at least one point and move up to eleventh place.
