KAC returns to success in Innsbruck!

After two recent defeats, the EC-KAC got back on the road to success at HC TIWAG Innsbruck – Die Haie. The Red Jackets won 4-1 against the Tyroleans.

League leaders EC-KAC beat HC TIWAG Innsbruck 4-1. For Klagenfurt it was the first win after two defeats in a row, which means they remain one point ahead of Graz. Bottom of the table Innsbruck, however, suffered their fifth defeat in a row. After the Tyroleans had spectacularly won the first home duel against the KAC this season with 9:6, this time the guests from Carinthia dominated the action from the start. Jan Muršak gave the KAC the lead in the fifth minute. The Haie managed to equalize in the ninth minute through Troy Lajeunesse – aided by a serious defensive error by the Red Jackets – which meant the score went into the first period break at 1-1. Less than three minutes after the restart, Filip Simovic made it 2-1 for the guests. It was the 18-year-old defender’s first goal in the win2day ICE Hockey League. Just 54 seconds later, Fabian Hochegger increased the score to 3:1. Innsbruck no longer had an answer. In the 55th minute, Mathias From made it 4-1.
