Stadium bans after playoff riots!

After the violent incidents surrounding the semi-final series of the DEL playoffs between the Kölner Haien and the Eisbären Berlin, those responsible have now drawn conclusions: several Eisbären participants have been given long-term stadium bans. We had previously reported on the escalation in which a fan bus was attacked and supporters were injured.

According to current information, the investigating authorities were able to identify numerous suspects. These people were immediately banned from entering the venue, which extended not only to the venue but also to adjacent venues. The measures will apply for several years and clearly show that violence will not be tolerated in the sports environment.

The club itself emphasized that it would consistently exercise its house rules and work closely with the authorities. The aim is to ensure the safety of all fans and to send a clear signal against riots. Further sanctions could also follow league-wide if additional participants are identified.
