EC Red Bull Salzburg has been without a defeat for a month now. The Mozartstadt team continued their winning streak against Olimpija Ljubljana with a 5-1 home win and have been unbeaten in twelve games.
For the third time in the club’s history, EC Red Bull Salzburg is celebrating twelve wins in a row. This feat was already achieved in the 2013/14 season and in the 2021 playoffs, when the Red Bulls were crowned champions with a sweep of twelve wins. Salzburg secured their twelfth success with a clear 5-1 home win against Olimpija Ljubljana. Before the game started, Thomas Raffl was honored by the league and club for his 1,000th. League game that the 39-year-old played in Bolzano on Monday was honored. In front of over 3,200 fans, it was his brother Michael Raffl who gave the defending champions the lead in the 4th minute. Although Olimpija managed to equalize at 1-1 in the 16th minute, the Red Bulls dominated the game after that. After 40 minutes it was 3-1, and in the final third Salzburg finally pulled ahead to 5-1. For the Slovenians it was the first defeat in the third duel of the season with Salzburg.
