The Red Bulls and Atte Tolvanen are continuing their collaboration and starting another season together. The 31-year-old with Finnish-Austrian dual citizenship (current contract) is already in his sixth season with the Red Bulls.
When Atte Tolvanen came to Salzburg five years ago, he impressed from the start and ended his first season with the Red Bulls with the win2day ICE Hockey League title. Three more complete successes followed, and Tolvanen was also awarded the MVP of the playoffs three times. Last season he also achieved a catch rate of 91.4% in the basic round, almost matching the performance from the previous two seasons. Together with goalkeeper David Kickert, he ensured that the Red Bulls were consistently one of the league teams with the best defense last season.
Tolvanen, who took on Austrian citizenship in addition to Finnish citizenship in December 2024, has also been eligible to play for the Austrian national team for a year now. Last year he played a game with Team Austria at the World Cup in Sweden (then had to leave for family reasons). The young father is now hoping for more appearances at the upcoming World Cup in Switzerland.
