The HCI has been waiting for a win for six games. The Haie celebrated their last success almost a month ago at home against the KAC. Even if the mood within the team is still good, there have to be points now Striker Benjamin Corbeil: “We’ve actually always been in the game recently, and overall we didn’t play badly. But that’s not enough. We finally have to win games.”

In December, after Alexander Rauchwald was out due to injury, the Eagles strengthened themselves with former NHL player Brett Ritchie. The 32-year-old Canadian, who was also active in the Russian KHL and the DEL, celebrated his debut in Villach on Friday, but did not score a point.
