Can HC Innsbruck stop their series of defeats against Villach?

The good news first: Steven Owre is today operated successfully been. The entire HC TIWAG Innsbruck-Die Haie organization wishes Steven all the best and a speedy recovery. Thanks go to the entire medical team.

The HCI has been waiting for a win for six games. The Haie celebrated their last success almost a month ago at home against the KAC. Even if the mood within the team is still good, there have to be points now Striker Benjamin Corbeil: “We’ve actually always been in the game recently, and overall we didn’t play badly. But that’s not enough. We finally have to win games.”

Against that iDM heat pumps VSV The Tyroleans have already won once this season, Corbeil scoring the game winner in a 2-1 win at the end of October. “That would of course be nice again, but the most important thing is that we win. We have to concentrate on our performance for 60 minutes and not allow ourselves to be derailed by mistakes, as we did recently.”

The VSV is currently in 8th place in the table, heading into the pre-playoffs. Most recently, the Eagles suffered three defeats in a row, the last on Friday at home 4:5 against Ferencvaros. In general, Villach has gotten a bit out of step in the last few weeks, with at least six defeats in the last seven games. In December, after Alexander Rauchwald was out due to injury, the Eagles strengthened themselves with former NHL player Brett Ritchie. The 32-year-old Canadian, who was also active in the Russian KHL and the DEL, celebrated his debut in Villach on Friday, but did not score a point.
