Coming and going

The Winterhawks will open the regular season on October 1, on the road against the Tri-City Americans. To end their season, they face the Seattle Thunderbirds at home on April 2.

Home is where the (Winter)hawks are

True to their word, the new ownership group has made the Veteran’s Memorial Coliseum the main home for the Portland Winterhawks. This allows both the team and the fans to have a central hub for all things Winterhawks. While some may miss seeing the Moda Center this season, this is an exciting development that most seem to be looking forward to.

Speaking of the VMC, the team will see nice stretches of time at home, including a 10-game home streak that will run from November 19 to December 14. During that time, the VMC will play host to games against the Kelowna Rockets (x2), Vancouver Giants, Kamloops Blazers, Prince George Cougars, Victoria Royals, Everett Silvertips (x2), and Spokane Chiefs (x2). The second-longest homestand is a five-game stint from October 10-27.

On the flip side, the team’s longest time on the road sits just before their 10 games at home. They will be away for six games from October 29 – November 13. They will visit Everett, Kamloops, Kelowna, Vancouver, Seattle, and Tri-City over that time.

The remaining questions

At the moment, the schedule is showing two games with a start time still “TBD.” Both October 27 at home against Victoria and New Year’s Eve at home against Seattle do not have times listed, but the games will go on!

Theme nights and any promotions are still yet to be added, but there is still quite a bit of time left for more of the specifics to be added.

All of this, and the final question is, which games will YOU be at this season?
