19-year-old Ben King was named DUB Player of the Week had a whopping six points (2G-4A) including both game-winners in a pair of Rebels wins this past weekend. The fourth-year DUB forward has been lights out this season with 86 points (45G-41A) in 57 games.
- he had a goal and four assists on March 11th in a 6-3 win over the Tigers.
- he had a goal in a 6-2 win over the Tigers in a return matchup.
Chaika named DUB Goaltender of the Week

First-year DUB netminder Tikhon Chaika picked up the WHL Goaltender of the Week honors by going 2-0-1-0 in his three appearances with an amazing 0.99 goals-against average, .966 save percentage, and a pair of shutouts.
- stopped 23 shots in a 4-0 shutout over the Hurricanes on March 8.
- stopped 30 shots in a 3-2 OT loss against the Blades on March 11.
- stopped 31 shots in a 1-0 win over the hometown Blades on March 12.
The 18-year-old Belarussian has appeared in 39 games with Raiders has a 17-15-3 record with a 2.84 GAA, .905 SV%, and three shutouts.

For the second time this season, the Allen Americans have released Kolten Olynek (Lethbridge, Moose Jaw, Spokane, Prince Albert, Saskatoon 2012-17). The 25-year-old had been in his fifth season at the University of Western Ontario (USports) where he had seven points (4G-3A) in six games. In 19 games with the Americans, he had three points (3A).
Olynek, a well-traveled DUB veteran played parts of five seasons with five different clubs. He had 77 points (32G-45A) in 253 career games.
Lindgren, Folk joins ECHL’s Admirals

Ryley Lindgren (Brandon, Lethbridge, Swift Current 2012-17) and Carter Folk (Seattle, Lethbridge, Victoria 2013-17) have both signed with the Norfolk Admirals out of USports. Lindgren had 19 points (5G-14A) in 20 games with the Mount Royal Cougars, while Folk also played 20 games with the University of Saskatchewan Huskies where he had 11 points (5G-6A),
Lindgren, a product of East St. Paul, MB played in 259 DUB games where he had 167 points (69G-98A).
Folk, from Regina, SK played 246 DUB games where he picked up 79 points (33G-46A).
Shearer joins Grizzlies

James Shearer (Brandon 2015-18) has signed with the Utah Grizzlies of the ECHL. The 24-year-old defenseman finished his season with the University of Calgary (USports) where he played 18 games in 2021-22 collecting seven points (4G-3A).
The three-year DUB veteran played his entire career with his hometown Wheat Kings where he skated in 166 games collecting 51 points (13G-38A) along the way.
Brkin signed with Thunder

Bailey Brkin (Swift Current, Kootenay, Spokane, Moose Jaw 2016-20), who was most recently with SPHL’s Quad City Storm has signed with the Wichita Thunder of the ECHL.
In 16 games with the Storm (SPHL), he is now 10-4-2 with a 2.12 goals-against average and .923 save percentage. With Fort Wayne (ECHL), he went 2-2-0 in four appearances with a 2.69 GAA and .869 SV%. In three games with the Rush (ECHL), he went 2-1-0 with a 2.34 GAA and a .920 SV%. In his most recent stop with the Solar Bears (ECHL), he played one game going 0-0-0 with a 3.57 GAA and .875 SV%.
Over parts of four seasons in the WHL he played 89 games compiling a 44-32-6 record. He had a 3.40 GAA and .898 SV% in his WHL career.
Strand returned to Reign

Austin Strand (Red Deer, Seattle 2014-18) was returned by the Los Angeles Kings to their AHL affiliate Ontario Reign just a day after being recalled. He has spent time with both clubs this season. With the Kings, the Calgary product has played in five games where he has a pair of assists. With the Reign, he has skated in 32 games collecting seven points (3G-4A).
His DUB career was split between the Rebels and Thunderbirds where he picked up 122 points (40G-82A) in 268 games.

Tyson Helgesen (Spokane 2013-18) has signed with the ECHL’s Rapid City Rush, while Logan Nelson (Victoria 2011-14) has joined the AHL’s Tucson Roadrunners from the Rush.
Helgesen, a product from Fairview, AB has joined the Rush from Mount Royal University (USports) where he had 10 points (2G-8A) in 20 games in 2021-22.
The defenseman played 263 DUB games, all with the Chiefs where he had 101 points (18G-83A).
Nelson, a center from Rogers, MN has 49 points (18G-31A) in 45 games with the Rush. He is in his second stint with the Roadrunners where he has no points in five games.
He played three DUB seasons, all with the Royals, skating in 179 games notching 159 points (60G-99A).
Chartier signs with Belleville for remainder of the season
ROSTER UPDATE: On Saturday, the #BellevilleSens released F Rourke Chartier from his PTO and signed him to a standard AHL player contract for the rest of the 2021-22 season.

25-year-old Rourke Chartier (Kelowna 2012-16) has signed with the Belleville Senators for the remainder of the season. Chartier had been on a professional tryout with the Senators and worked his way to a full contract with the AHL club.
The four-year DUB veteran played 230 games with the Rockets where he collected 216 points (110G-106A).
Fix-Wolansky back with Monsters

Trey Fix-Wolansky (Edmonton 2016-19) was reassigned by the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL after being called up just a couple of days earlier. During an earlier emergency recall by the Blue Jackets, he has now played in six games where he nabbed two points (1G-1A). With the Monsters, he has 22 points (11G-11A) in 32 games.
The 22-year-old Fix-Wolansky played his entire three-year DUB career with his hometown Oil Kings where he skated in 206 games collecting 245 points (93G-152A).
