Daily Dose of the DUB: Zummack grabs AHL deal, Owre signs in France, and more!

 

Providence nabs Zummack for two years

21-year-old forward Eli Zummack (254GP, 70G, 169A with Spokane) has signed a two-year deal with the Providence Bruins, the AHL affiliate of the Boston Bruins. Last season Zummack scored nine goals and had 13 assists in 21 games with the Giants. Zummack was a second-round draft pick of the Red Deer Rebels in 2015 but was dealt before he played a game for the team.

Manning heads to DEL

31-year-old defenceman Brandon Manning (200GP, 45G, 91A with Chilliwack) has signed with the Straubing Tigers of the DEL for the 2021-22 season. Manning did not play in 2020-21. The Prince George, BC native was not drafted by an NHL team but did make it into 255 NHL games with the Philadelphia Flyers, Chicago Blackhawks, and Edmonton Oilers.

Owre signs in France

25-year-old Edmonton, AB forward Steven Owre (282GP, 74G, 147A with Medicine Hat ’12-’17) has signed with Cergy-Pontoise of Ligue Magnus in France.  The 5-foot-10, 176-pound Owre spent 2020-21 playing for the Allen Americans in the ECHL where he registered four goals and 11 assists in 35 regular-season games. He also contributed one assist in two playoff games.

Polivka re-signs with SHC Klatovy

27-year-old goaltender Patrik Polivka (96GP, 56-28-7, 2.92GAA, .904sv% with Victoria ’12-’14) has signed for a second season with SHC Klatovy of the Czech3 league. Last season Polivka was 4-2-0 in six games with the team, earning a 3.83 goals-against average. Polivka has been loaned to SHC Klatovy three separate times also.
