Krebs skates with Golden Knights

Winnipeg ICE forward Peyton Krebs took to the ice with the Vegas Golden Knights on Tuesday as he rehabs from surgery on his Achilles tendon after an off-season training incident. Krebs was drafted in the first round of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft by the Golden Knights and could see a conditioning stint with the AHL’s Chicago Wolves before Vegas decides on his future for this season.

Brkin headed to Soo Greyhounds 

After being claimed off waivers by the OHL’s Kingston Frontenacs, overage netminder Bailey Brkin (89 GP with the Swift Current Broncos, Kootenay ICE, Spokane Chiefs, and Moose Jaw Warriors from 2016-19) has been traded to the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds for overage goalie Christian Propp and a 13th round pick in the 2023 OHL Priority Selection Draft.

Herman returns to Swift Current 

The Prince George Cougars have returned goaltender Jacob Herman to the Swift Current Legionnaires of the SMHL. In two games with the Cougars, Herman posted a 6.00 GAA and .831 save percentage. He’s played 10 games in the SMHL this year recording a 2.04 GAA and .930 save percentage.

Wheat Kings reach a historic milestone 

With the Brandon Wheat Kings 7-2 win over the Winnipeg ICE on Remembrance Day, the team reached a historic milestone with their 1800th win in franchise history. Only one other team has hit that mark in WHL history, the Medicine Hat Tigers did so earlier this week with a 5-4 victory over the Prince George Cougars on November 6th. The two teams will square off on November 19th in Medicine Hat which could be a battle for the league lead in all-time wins.

Blades unveil jersey for Video Game Night 

The Saskatoon Blades unveiled the Pac-Man inspired jerseys they will be wearing this Saturday when they host the Calgary Hitmen for “Video Game Night”.

Samuelsson signs in Manchester

Henrik Samuelsson (162 GP, 75 G, 123 A with the Edmonton Oil Kings from 2011-14) has signed with the Manchester Storm of the EIHL. A former first-round pick of the Arizona Coyotes, Samuelsson split last season between the AHL’s Rockford Ice Hogs and ECHL’s Idaho Steelheads recording seven goals and 10 assists in 63 total games.

Morrisonn also making move to England

Shaone Morrisonn (179 GP, 25 G, 57 A with the Kamloops Blazers from 1999-2002) has signed with the Cardiff Devils of the EIHL for the remainder of this season. The 36-year-old defenseman was drafted by the Boston Bruins in the first round of the 2001 NHL Entry Draft. He last played for the Oji Eagles of the Asia League where he had two goals and seven assists in 32 games last season.

Balan gets try-out contract 

Stanislav Balan (67 GP, 14 G, 23 A with the Portland Winterhawks in the 2005-06 season) has signed a tryout contract with Dukla Trenčín in Slovakia which runs until December 8th. A former seventh-round pick of the Nashville Predators in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Balan started this year with SHK Hodonín in the Czech Republic where he had four goals and 18 assists in 13 games.

  • Brendan Kuny has been released from the active roster and joined the AJHL’s Drayton Valley Thunder.
  • Jacson Alexander (upper body, TBD), Jesse Seppala (upper body week-to-week) and Logan Dowhaniuk (upper body, day-to-day) are on the injury list.

Everett Silvertips

  • Jacob Wright, Max Patterson, Cole Fonstad and Keegan Karki have all returned to the lineup.

Kamloops Blazers

  • Kyrell Sopotyk has an upper-body injury and its not know n how much time he’ll miss.
  • Trevor Thurston has returned from suspension

Kelowna Rockets

  • Kyle Topping continues to progress in his recovery. He’s now listed as out 11-17 weeks.

Portland Winterhawks 

  • Gabe Klassen has been recalled from the Prince Albert Mintos of the SMHL
  • Robbie Fromm-Delorme is out indefinitely with an upper-body injury.

Prince George Cougars 

  • Reid Perepeluk is day-to-day with a lower-body injury.

Red Deer Rebels

  • Kyle Masters is out indefinitely with a lower-body injury.

Saskatoon Blades

  • Spencer Shugrue has joined the team from the Yale Academy Midget Prep team.
  • Cyle McNabb and Koen Macinnes have returned from injury.
