Young talent: KAC grabs the next title!

The Red Jackets, who narrowly won their two home games 3:2 and 5:4, left no doubt from the start of the away game in Jesenice as to who would emerge as champions. Marcel Vodnjov with a goal while outnumbered (15th) and Ben Öfner (18th) gave the team a 2-0 lead after 20 minutes.

In the second period, head coach Roger Öhman’s team continued to build momentum and initially opened up a comfortable four-goal lead. Johannes Dobrovolny increased the score to 3-0 (34th) and a little later made it 4-0 (36th). Martin Rožič reduced the score to 1:4 (38th). Just 36 seconds after the Slovenians scored, Filip Simovic made it 5-1 for the young Klagenfurt team (38th).

Even in the final third, the red and white defense together with keeper Jon Kavčič left nothing to be desired. On the contrary: Tristan Schall made it 6:1 (47th). The U20 of the EC KAC ultimately won 6-1, secured a 3-0 win in the best-of-five series with a sweep and are Austrian champions of the ÖEHV U20 International League 2025/2026.
