Americans send Roberts to Wheat Kings

The Tri-City Americans announced on Sunday that they have traded 19-year-old forward Landon Roberts to the Brandon Wheat Kings in exchange for a 2024 seventh-round WHL Prospects Draft pick.

Roberts, who is from Souris, MB, has played in eight games with the Americans this season, scoring one goal and adding one assist. In 63 regular-season WHL games with the Americans, he has scored three goals and added two assists.

“With an abundance of forwards, it was necessary to make a roster move,” said Tri-City Americans General Manager Bob Tory. “We wish Landon all the best in Brandon.”

“Landon provides us with another veteran forward in our group,” said Brandon Wheat Kings General Manager Doug Gasper. “He plays hard and has a competitive nature that makes things difficult for the opposition.”

The Americans drafted Roberts in the sixth round of the 2017 WHL Draft, and he signed with the club on August 25, 2019.

Roberts played four seasons between the Southwest Cougars U15 & U18 AAA programs in Southern Manitoba.
