Silvertips announce Davidson’s departure

Earlier this evening, the Everett Silvertips COO and President Zoran Rajcic announced that the team will not be extending its contract with General Manager Garry Davidson.

In the statement provided by the Silvertips, Rajcic was quoted as saying “Thank you to Garry for his contribution to our franchise over the past 9 years”, said Zoran Rajcic, President & COO. “Garry has been (a) significant contributor to our franchise, and the business and on-ice success of the Everett Silvertips is directly attributable to his efforts.”

Widely regarded as one of the league’s most savvy General Managers, Davidson has steered the Silvertips to a 346-178-60 record, an Ed Chynoweth Cup final, four US Division banners, and the top record in the WHL’s Western Conference this season. He was also named WHL ‘Executive of the Year’ for the 2017-18 season.

Restructuring due to the last two seasons is cited as reasoning for Davidson’s immediate departure.
