The Everett Silvertips signed Ryan Hofer to a Standard Player Agreement on Monday. The 18-year-old forward was never drafted in the WHL and joins the ‘Tips from their protected list. He played with the Pursuit of Excellence Midget Prep team in the CSSHL this season registering 26 goals and 25 assists. He also happens to be the younger brother of Portland Winterhawks goaltender Joel Hofer. If the elder Hofer returns to the WHL for his overage season that could be another wrinkle to the Everett-Portland rivalry.
