BREAKING: Winnipeg ICE win WHL Bantam Draft Lottery and will pick first overall

The Winnipeg ICE Have won the WHL Bantam draft lottery moving them up 1 spot.

The 2019 WHL Bantam Draft will be held in Red Deer and is typically held on the first Thursday in May.

It was once thought to be a one horse race with Matt Savoie being the guaranteed first overall selection but with his recent verbal commitment to the University of Denver all bets are off the table.

Before the lottery, the odds were as follows:

Prince George Cougars – six balls/28.6%
Winnipeg ICE – five balls/23.8
Saskatoon Blades – four balls/19.0%
Prince George Cougars – three balls/14.3%
Kelowna Rockets – two balls/9.5%
Brandon Wheat Kings – one ball/4.8%
