Thunderbirds sign players on consecutive days

On Thursday the Seattle Thunderbirds announced the signing of 15-year-old defenceman Ethan Mittelsteadt. He is a fifth-round pick of the Thunderbirds from the 2020 WHL Draft.
Mittelsteadt, who is from Victoria, BC, was registered with the Victoria Admirals U15 AAA team in 2020-21.

On Friday, the team announced the signing of 2020 WHL seventh-round draft pick, forward Coster Dunn.
Dunn, who is from Edmonton, AB, played three games with the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers U16 team, where he registered three assists.

The Regina Pats announced the signing of two defencemen on Friday.
16-year-old Carter Herman was a fourth-round pick by the Pats at the 2020 WHL Draft. Last season with the Swift Current Legionnaires, Herman was held pointless in six games.
15-year-old Mitchell McEachern was not drafted by the Pats. Last season McEachern played with the Saskatoon Riverkings U18 AA, registering four assists in four games.
Portland deals Dunsford

The Portland Winterhawks announced they have traded 18-year-old goaltender Mason Dunsford to the Seattle Thunderbirds in exchange for a conditional fifth-round draft pick at the 2023 WHL Draft.
Dunsford was acquired by the Winterhawks on August 11 from the Tri-City Americans. Last season with the Americans Dunsford was 0-5-0, with a 5.30 goals-against average, and a .857 save percentage.

31-year-old defenceman Michael Stone (52 goals, 129 assists in 264 games with Calgary 2006-10) has re-signed with the Calgary Flames for one year.
Stone, who is from Winnipeg, MB, split the 2020-21 season between the Flames (21GP, 2G, 2A) and the team’s AHL affiliate, the Stockton Heat (4GP, 2G, 0A).
The Phoenix Coyotes selected Stone in the third round of the 2008 NHL Draft. He has since played 493 NHL games with the Coyotes and Flames. As a member of the Calgary Hitmen, Stone won the 2009-10 Ed Chynoweth Cup.

29-year-old forward Jesse Mychan (29 goals, 31 assists in 104 games with Everett and Tri-City 2011-13) has signed with the ECHL’s Kansas City Mavericks.
Last season as a member of the Allen Americans, Mychan scored 15 goals and added nine assists in 24 games.

22-year-old forward Cam Hausinger (68 goals, 93 assists in 317 games with Saskatoon, Red Deer, and Kootenay 2015-20) has signed with the ECHL’s Wheeling Nailers.
Hausinger did not play in 2020-21. He last played in 2019-20 as a member of the Red Deer Rebels, where he scored 13 goals and added 25 assists in 61 games.

20-year-old defenceman Nolan Jones (3 goals, 21 assists in 128 games with Lethbridge, Victoria, and Moose Jaw 2016-21) has signed with the SJHL’s Estevan Bruins.
Last season Jones played 14 games for the Warriors, registering one assist. He was also loaned to Estevan for five games, where he scored one goal and added an assist.
